SDGs 4 World Class University

Attending a UNESCO Invitation in Germany, Warjio, Ph.D. Voices Indonesia's Commitment to Sustainable Education Warjio, Ph.D., represented Indonesia as a speaker in the Sustainable Development for Education program organized by UNESCO in Hannover, Germany, in November 2025. This working visit aimed to strengthen education diplomacy and present culture- and science-based innovations to support the achievement of SDG 4 at the global level. 25 September 2026

Reducing Flood Risks, Community Service Team Assists Cinta Damai Residents in Creating Biopore Infiltration Holes Siti Hazzah Nur R, S.Sos., M.AP., Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Public Administration, FISIP USU, together with the community service team, provided assistance in implementing biopore infiltration holes in Cinta Damai Subdistrict, Medan Helvetia District. 24 September 2026

Bridging the Gap: Communication Studies Students of FISIP USU Explore the Modern Broadcasting Industry at TVRI North Sumatra Communication Studies students of FISIP USU conducted a field study at the TVRI North Sumatra station in Medan to directly observe the workflow of the public broadcasting industry, from the newsroom to the main broadcasting studio. The activity aimed to strengthen students' practical understanding by learning about the application of journalistic ethics and strategies for adapting traditional media in the digital era directly from practitioners. 23 September 2026

Strengthening International Relations, FISIP USU Welcomes Visit and General Lecture by the Head of the Political Section of the U.S. Embassy The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara, received a diplomatic visit from the U.S. Consulate and Embassy. FISIP USU Holds Correspondence Administration Coordination To optimize the quality of administrative services, FISIP USU held a correspondence administration coordination meeting led by the Head of the Office, Elvi Sumanti, S.T., M.Hum. Strengthening the Three Pillars of Higher Education, Master's Program in Public Administration FISIP USU and UGM Agree on Strategic Collaboration The Master's Program in Public Administration of FISIP USU successfully held an Academic Collaboration Discussion Forum, Academic Consultation, and Benchmarking with FISIPOL UGM in Yogyakarta on August 4–6, 2026. The meeting discussed the implementation of an Outcome-Based Education (OBE)-based curriculum, quality assurance, accreditation strategies, and opportunities for joint research on community-based waste management innovation. 21 September 2026
