Rector Greeting is an activity carried out by the USU Rector, where the plans that USU wants to achieve in the next two years are discussed with Study Program Leaders and Lecturers. Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos, M.Si expressed their desire to position the institution as important. World Class University (WCU) is one way to strengthen the Study Program towards USU 500 UBD.

USU's plans include three main things, namely education, research and publications, and community service. In education, the OBE curriculum is a requirement for international accreditation. Currently, 66% of study program curricula have yet to be OBE curricula. Therefore, he encouraged all study programs to change their curriculum to the OBE curriculum. The USU Rector also said that he would carry out international study program accreditation thoroughly and review the rector's SN diktat regulations according to the strength of the study program in the Rector's Regulation. In addition, according to the Research and Publication Score, USU's international article publication value is 0.8, which means it has yet to reach one lecturer 1 article. Up to 400 lecturers still need to get SCOPUS-indexed articles. In response, the university facilitates article writing programs and rewards lecturers with high writing productivity through the EQUITY program and programs at LIPIHKI.

Meanwhile, the number of community services (PkM) following national research priorities (PRN) still needs to be higher. PkM should target specific topics related to the community's needs based on business and industry trends. The Rector also discussed other important issues for 2024, such as key performance indicators, digitalization programs, priority infrastructure improvements, and the development of research clusters and PUIs.
