13 FISIP Students from Universitas Sumatera Utara Pass PMM Batch 3

FISIP USU – A total of 13 students from the Political Science program at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) have successfully passed the Merdeka Student Exchange Program (PMM) Batch 3. PMM is a program initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture. According to the official website pusat informasi.kampusmerdeka.kemdikbud.go.id, PMM 3 is a one-semester student mobility program designed to provide learning experiences at different universities across Indonesia while strengthening national unity through diversity. PMM 3 aims to involve 204 host universities and accommodate 15,505 student participants.
Furthermore, PMM 3 consists of six main elements:
Student exchanges across island clusters
Credit transfer recognition of up to 20 credits (SKS)
Allows exchanges between public and private universities (PTN to PTS and vice versa)
Open to students in their 3rd, 5th, and 7th semesters
Exploring unity in diversity through the “Nusantara Module”
Academic-to-academic and vocational-to-vocational exchange mechanisms
The 13 students have been placed at various universities across Indonesia:
2 students at Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI)
3 students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sorong (UMS)
2 students at Universitas Langlangbuana in Bandung
2 students at Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD)
1 student each at Universitas 17 Agustus (UNTAG), Universitas Bosowa in Makassar, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (UNSOED), and Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jawa Timur (UPNV)
The 13 selected students are Agatha Panjaitan, Dimas Silitonga, Maria Sianipar, Abryosi Hasugian, Yasmin Ginting, Mutia Ar-Ridha, Souvia Lubis, Asri Situmorang, Margaretha Naibaho, Rona Ria Hutagalung, Della Margarettha, Rheinald Purba, and Ilham Yusuf.
The Secretary of the Political Science program, Aidil Arifin, explained that all selected students were given proper guidance during the preparation phase, particularly when choosing their destination universities. He also emphasized that each student has ensured compatibility in credit transfers (SKS) and their chosen study program.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Political Science program, Indra Fauzan, expressed his appreciation for the 13 students’ success in the PMM program by Kemendikbud. He stated that the Political Science faculty consistently supports and encourages students to participate in the ministry's programs. He also hopes the students can adapt well and represent Universitas Sumatera Utara positively.
One of the successful participants, Agatha Panjaitan, expressed her gratitude to the Political Science faculty for their continuous support leading up to the election results. She hopes that PMM will provide valuable experiences and personal growth for all participants.
