Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held an Open Session to commemorate its 74th Dies Natalis. The ceremonial event was officially opened by the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., and began with a solemn series of proceedings, including the singing of the Indonesian National Anthem, the USU Hymn, and a moment of silence. On the occasion, the Rector delivered the USU Development Report, followed by a video presentation highlighting the university’s strategic achievements and congratulatory messages from various stakeholders.

The event became even more meaningful with the presence of several high-ranking government officials and national figures who delivered remarks and shared insights. The Governor of North Sumatra was represented by the Deputy Governor of North Sumatra, H. Surya, B.Sc., followed by remarks from the Chairperson of the USU Board of Trustees, General of Police (Ret.) Drs. Agus Andrianto, S.H., M.H. The academic session was further enriched by a scientific oration delivered by the Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of the Republic of Indonesia, M. Maman Abdurrahman, S.T.

The 74th Dies Natalis celebration also featured the presentation of special awards by the Rector of USU to individuals and institutions that have contributed to the advancement of the university. The event was further enlivened by a musical performance by Consolatio and a special guest performance by renowned Indonesian musician ANJI.

The Open Session was officially concluded by the Rector following a joint prayer and the singing of Bagimu Negeri and the USU March. The historic celebration continued with a reception and a group photo involving the invited guests and the USU academic community.
