The Academic Senate of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) conducted a working visit and Leadership Meeting at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) USU as part of regular academic monitoring and oversight of the implementation of the University's Strategic Plan (Renstra). This activity was organized as part of the duties and authority of the Academic Senate based on MWA Regulation Number 1 of 2026 concerning the Organization and Governance of USU. This monitoring effort aimed to ensure that all learning processes, quality assurance, and educational governance within FISIP USU were consistently implemented in accordance with the highest quality standards.

The academic monitoring agenda directly involved the faculty leadership and study program level to conduct an in-depth review of the effectiveness of curriculum implementation and the learning supervision system. Through interactive dialogue and objective document review, all academic leaders within FISIP USU were encouraged to jointly align the quality of learning operations with the performance targets established by the university. This synergy is crucial to maintaining accountability and promoting continuous improvement in education quality.

The academic monitoring at FISIP USU covered 11 fundamental evaluation points, ranging from the readiness of the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Curriculum for Undergraduate to Doctoral Programs, implementation of recognition of non-thesis final assignments, readiness of international classes, to the monitoring of the Fast Track program. In addition, institutional supporting aspects such as accreditation, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), the effectiveness of student activities, cooperation and scientific publications, as well as the efficiency of budget planning, were comprehensively monitored to improve the competitiveness of FISIP USU at the national and international levels.
