The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FISIP USU) welcomed a working visit from the Directorate of Commercialization, Business, and Risk Management of Universitas Sumatera Utara (Dit. KBM USU) on Monday, August 10, 2026. The visit marked an initial step in mapping the business potential available across the university's faculties.
The visit was represented by Hafiza Adlina, S.AB., M.AB., Manager of Commercialization and Business at the Directorate of Commercialization, Business, and Risk Management. The meeting served as an initial step in identifying potential business opportunities and strategies for optimizing FISIP USU's assets to support sustainable institutional revenue growth.

The working visit was attended by the Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Infrastructure of FISIP USU, along with the FISIP USU Equipment Team. During the discussion, the participants explored the faculty's areas of expertise as well as its facilities and infrastructure that could potentially be developed into productive business units.
The optimization of physical facilities, including meeting rooms, halls, studios, and specialized equipment outside academic operating hours, was also highlighted as a potential source of additional institutional revenue. Through this collaboration, FISIP USU is expected to contribute to the development of competitive, expertise-based business units that can strengthen the university's financial sustainability.
This initiative also supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through collaboration between university units to develop institutional resources and achieve shared objectives.
