On September 25, 2026, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Undergraduate Program in Political Science, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a workshop entitled "Training on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use" at the 2nd Floor Hall of FISIP USU. The activity focused on strengthening understanding, awareness, and basic ethical principles that should be applied when utilizing artificial intelligence technology, particularly amid the dynamics of developments in science, technology, and modern socio-political issues.

In the presentation delivered by Alwi Dahlan Ritonga, S.IP., M.Ipol, a lecturer in Political Science at FISIP USU, and moderated by Putri Evi Ovianti Batubara, S.IP., M.IP., participants were invited to explore various moral challenges, the risks of information bias, and regulations governing the use of AI. The training emphasized the importance of academic integrity, data protection, and ethical boundaries so that AI technology can be utilized wisely and responsibly while providing positive impacts on the advancement of science and society.
