The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FISIP USU), received a visit from the management teams of PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum) and PT Mineral Industri Indonesia (MIND ID) to explore potential collaboration in organizing a journalistic works competition. The meeting was attended by FISIP USU leadership, including Dr. Emilia Ramadhani, S.Sos., M.A., Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure, and Moulita, S.Sos., M.A., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization. The collaboration between academia and the state-owned enterprise holding company represents a concrete effort to foster literacy and critical thinking among young people on campus.

The main focus of the visit was the dissemination of MediaMIND 2026, a journalism competition designed to develop students’ journalistic talents while broadening public understanding of the role of the industrial sector in national development. Through this program, PT Inalum and MIND ID seek to encourage FISIP USU students to produce creative, ethical, and informative journalistic works.
The FISIP USU leadership welcomed the initiative and expressed its commitment to providing full support for the successful dissemination of MediaMIND 2026, with the hope that the program will help nurture talented young journalists from the university.
