As part of the Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus bagi Mahasiswa Baru (PKKMB) USU 2026, Garuda TV collaborated with Universitas Sumatera Utara to organize a collaborative program titled “Indonesia Punya Kamu: Connecting Generations” on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the FISIP USU campus. The program was specially presented to welcome new students through a series of inspiring activities, including a Broadcasting Class and Faculty Challenge. The program aimed to strengthen connections across generations while providing new students with practical insights into the modern broadcasting and media industry from the beginning of their university journey.

As one of the highlights of the PKKMB series, the Anchor Hunt talent competition was held at the Smart Classroom of FISIP USU starting at 8:00 a.m. Through this activity, participants received direct guidance from Garuda TV professional presenters, including Jemmy Darusman, Sheila Kosakoy, and Samuel Purba, to develop their public-speaking skills and news-reading techniques. In addition to competing for prizes worth millions of rupiah, outstanding participants also received an opportunity to join Garuda TV as Citizen Journalists.

The collaboration between Garuda TV and USU through “Indonesia Punya Kamu: Connecting Generations” provided new students with an opportunity to explore the media industry, develop communication skills, and gain practical experience beyond the classroom. The program also reflects the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and industry in preparing students to face the professional world.

This activity supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, particularly through the development of students' knowledge, communication skills, creativity, and practical competencies. The collaboration between Garuda TV and USU also aligns with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through cross-sector collaboration in supporting student development and education.
