The Doctoral and Master’s Programs in Communication Studies, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FISIP USU), welcomed 40 new students, consisting of 16 doctoral and 24 master’s students.

The orientation introduced students to the academic environment, learning system, curriculum, lecturers, and administrative staff. The activity was also designed to help students adapt to academic life and facilitate communication with the study programs.
Students were also introduced to the student organizations Ikatan Mahasiswa Doktor Ilmu Komunikasi (IMADIKSI) and Ikatan Mahasiswa Magister Ilmu Komunikasi (IMAMIKOM). IMAMIKOM provided information on academic coordination and assisted master’s students in selecting a class representative, while also introducing its leadership regeneration process for the 2026 cohort.

Meanwhile, IMADIKSI served as a platform for doctoral students to build communication, academic development, and student networks.
Through this activity, FISIP USU aims to create an open, communicative, and supportive academic environment that helps new students adapt, build relationships, and develop both academically and organizationally.
