On Monday, June 10, 2024, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the Universitas Sumatera Utara held a Focus Group Discussion on the Third Revision of Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police. Members of Commission III of the House of Representatives, Dr. Hinca IP Panjaitan, SH, MH, ACCS, academics from several universities in Medan, representatives from related agencies and institutions, and students attended this activity.
This activity, located in the multipurpose hall of FISIP USU, aims to provide input related to the discussion of the third amendment draft law (UU) Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police.
Several important issues arose in the community, including several plans for additional authority to change the retirement age of Polri members. This FGD is hoped to produce a comprehensive legislative product and provide ample space for the North Sumatran public to be involved in its formulation.
