Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science of the Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dr. Hatta Ridho, S.Sos., MSP, attended the national seminar of the Expertise Agency of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia. This activity occurred from Thursday to Saturday, February 22-24, 2024, at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta.

Head of the Board of Expertise (BK) of the Secretariat General of the House of Representatives (Setjen) Inosentius Samsul opened the National Seminar and Coordination Meeting with BK MoU partners with the title 'Synergy Between the Board of Expertise and Universities in Supporting Evidence Based Policy Making'. He revealed that the national seminar could open easier access for universities to collaborate in formulating DPR RI policies to educate the nation and state. He added that BK DPR RI is also developing a data integration system that will facilitate evidence-based policy-making in DPR RI. The system will connect various relevant data sources, both internal and external, to the House of Representatives so that they can be accessed quickly and easily by users. Teddy Prasetiawan, one of the speakers at the National Seminar, commented positively on the collaboration between BK and universities. He said such cooperation can be done more frequently and effectively using information technology.

For the record, the national seminar on data integration between the House of Representatives Expertise Agency and academics is intended to improve the quality of public policy formation, namely to formulate and improve the data integration process between the House of Representatives Expertise Agency and scholars. So that policy formulation becomes more qualified, based on very in-depth research or analysis results. In addition, it is also to find out how evidence-based policymaking is applied in the formation of public policy in Indonesia, as well as to find out the form of data integration that needs to be carried out between the House of Representatives Expertise Agency and Higher Education.
