On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, a talk show themed "Changes in the Media Industry" was successfully held at the Multipurpose Hall of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FISIP USU). The event featured three distinguished speakers:
- Usman Kansong, Director General of Public Information and Communication at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia
- Dr. Ichwan Azhari, Historian, Lecturer, and Philology Expert from Universitas Negeri Medan
- Muhammad Sahrir, Commissioner of the Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID) of North Sumatra
Dr. Hatta Ridho, S.Sos., MSP, Dean of FISIP USU, officially opened the event, followed by insightful presentations from the speakers.
During the presentation session, the speakers shared their knowledge and perspectives on various aspects of the modern media industry, including:
- Policy – The role of government regulations in shaping media development
- History – How media evolution has influenced information dissemination
- Current Industry Conditions – The challenges and transformations facing the media landscape today
The primary objective of this talk show was to facilitate discussion and knowledge-sharing on the significant changes in the media industry over the past few years. These changes have profoundly affected how society consumes media and the broader impact of digital transformation.
