Students of the Master's Program in Political Science are expected:

Learning Outcomes
1	Mastering qualitative and quantitative approaches and research methods that are descriptive, explanatory, exploratory, verificative and predictive, various paradigms or approaches, theories and conceptual development of politics, policies, governance and elections holistically.
2	Mastering various political methods and approaches to provide appropriate solutions to various problems by reducing the risk of causing new problems and mastering quality research results to gain appreciation in national and international seminars or conferences and be accepted in national and international indexed journals supported by the ability to master the latest information and communication technology.
3	Mastering various paradigms, approaches and various theories of development politics and policies, as well as governance and election governance for quality research and mastering political maps, governance, and community conditions, as well as their implications for policies and governance, mastering and having strong knowledge in the field of expertise: socio-political, economic and cultural surveys with various abilities to master critical and holistic approaches and analysis methods.
4	Mastering and being able to develop study results, as well as having strategic and technical abilities to disseminate them and mastering and being able to develop concepts, as well as various methods of approach in the fields of development politics, policies, governance and elections, as well as the ability to socialize them to various levels of society.
5	Mastering various political development issues, policies, governance and elections, as well as appropriate solutions to be conveyed to the broader community, by predetermined topics, formulating policy and governance study programs, and election governance so that they can appropriately make good policies.
6	Mastering various political development issues critically and profoundly, having the mastery of solving problems and being able to formulate financial policies or regional budgets appropriately to master various paradigms, approaches and theories of development and policy, as well as government management, mastering various paradigms, approaches and theories and development policies based on community and social institutions in North Sumatra.
7	Mastering various paradigms, approaches and theories of consensus building, including institutional theory, conflict, conflict resolution, development politics, ideology and policy, mastering various paradigms, approaches and theories of mediation and issues of conflict sources and resolution.
8	Mastering conflict resolution theory and mastering the design of cases that occur, including in development in North Sumatra and mastering policy management and planning, as well as various approaches to community empowerment, intergroup relations, communication development and cooperation, mastering various paradigms, approaches, theories and policy analysis, as well as methods of public policy testing.
