Undergraduate Program in Public Administration Science

With an A accreditation rating, the Undergraduate Program in Public Administration Science becomes the academic unit that executes the management of public organizations, such as human resources, performance management, local government systems, leadership, financial administration, public policy, etc.

With an exceptional lineup of nationally certified teaching staff, students are provided with knowledge of the state administration system, local government, and bureaucracy as well as skills to comprehensively manage various types of organizations and the ability to make strategic decisions. Graduates have broad career prospects, including politicians, government consultants, activists, journalists, researchers, and educators.

History

1980

Establishing the Public Administration Study Program is inseparable from setting up FISIP USU. The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FISIP USU), was established in 1980. At first, FISIP USU was only a Department of Public Knowledge at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara.

1981

In 1981, the Department of Community Knowledge changed to the Department of Social Sciences (IIS).

1982

In 1982, the Department of Social Sciences officially became the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, using the lecture hall at the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG), Universitas Sumatera Utara.

1984

Furthermore, on August 18, 1984, all lectures and administrative activities of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Sciences of the Universitas Sumatera Utara were moved to a new building on Jl. Dr. A. Sofyan, namely the USU Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Sciences Building.

2017

The State Administration Department changed its nomenclature to Public Administration Science (Rector Decree Number: 1547/UN5.1R/SK/PRS/2017 dated July 03, 2017), while the department was changed to a Study Program and has a degree designation: Undergraduate Program in Public Administration (S.A.P).

IMPRODIAP

The Public Administration Study Program Student Association (IMPRODIAP) is an extra-curricular student organization in the FISIP USU Public Administration Study Program. In its activities, this organization is more concerned with developing intellectuality and knowledge, especially in terms of applying knowledge gained from lectures to society's social world. IMPRODIAP is also independent and not bound to anyone or anything. The sustainability of this student forum is a form of togetherness that exists in the academic community of the FISIP USU Public Administration Study Program. Upon democratization, this organization always bases all its activities on the results of deliberations at the student level of the Public Administration Study Program through the Public Administration Study Program Deliberation.
