Undergraduate Program in Political Science

The Undergraduate Program in Political Science at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) was established in 2001 and has obtained A accreditation. The program is responsible for the study of socio-political phenomena at home and abroad.

With three concentrations of study, namely Indonesian Politics, Comparative Politics, and Islamic Politics, we have expert lecturers who have extensive experience in the field of politics. Supported by adequate facilities and infrastructure, we are committed to producing students who become competent political science candidates. They are ready for careers in various government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and private companies.

History

2001

Universitas Sumatera Utara’s Undergraduate in Political Science Study Program of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences opened in the 2001/2002 Academic Year. The Political Science Study Program was established in August 2001 with a letter from the Director General of Higher Education Number 2809 / D / 2001 concerning Permission to Organize a Political Science Study Program for Undergraduate Program (S1) at the Universitas Sumatera Utara signed by the Director General of Higher Education dated August 30, 2001. With this decision, the Political Science Study Program was opened at FISIP USU following the previously established Study Programs: Anthropology Study Program, Sociology Study Program, Social Security Study Program, State Adm Study Program, and Communication Science Study Program.
