The Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FISIP USU), attended the prestigious QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2026, held from 3 to 5 November 2026 at the Bali International Convention Centre (BICC), Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia.

At this year's event, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) also demonstrated its global commitment by actively participating as a Silver Sponsor. This international-scale event was supported by the main sponsors, namely BINUS University (which also served as the host), Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD), and The Education University of Hong Kong. It brought together more than 1,500 higher education leaders, academics, education practitioners, and government representatives from various countries.

Carrying the theme “Advancing Education for Purpose and Impact,” the forum served as a strategic platform for discussing the future direction, challenges, opportunities, and trends in global higher education. Discussions focused on strengthening internationalization, graduate readiness for the workforce, and cross-border collaboration, guided by a sense of social responsibility and shared well-being.

The FISIP USU Dean's attendance at the summit was part of the university's concrete efforts to expand its international partnership networks, build transformative dialogue, and encourage intergenerational exchanges in research and innovation.

Through USU's active participation and full support for the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2026, the university is expected to strengthen its position on the global stage and encourage the Asia-Pacific region to become a hub for talent development, research, and higher education innovation that delivers tangible benefits to society at large.
