Medan, December 19, 2023 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Sumatera Utara held its annual Reflection event for 2023 at the Grandhika Setiabudi Hotel in Medan. Attended by the Dean's office, program heads, expert staff, administrative heads, and all educational staff within FISIP USU, the event served as a moment to evaluate the achievements of 2023, address the challenges faced, and strategize for the future.
The Dean of FISIP USU, Dr. Hatta Ridho, S.Sos., MSP, opened the event by presenting the faculty's Key Performance Indicator (IKU) achievements for 2023. He emphasized the importance of reflection as a foundation for future development, urging all attendees to collectively review the faculty's journey toward excellence.
Subsequent presentations by the Vice Deans and Subdivision Heads highlighted each unit's achievements, including innovations, accomplishments, and collaborations with external stakeholders. Discussions underscored successes such as the increasing number of faculty engaging in off-campus activities, more faculty members with publications or other works, and adopting technologies like UMPAN FISIP in general administration and SIMTA FISIP in the learning process.
However, the event also addressed the obstacles and challenges faced. The open discussions created opportunities for collaboration in overcoming shared issues and identifying improvement areas.
The event also recognized contributions to PDDikti reporting and supported the USU100% program for the Even Semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. Awards were presented to faculty leaders, program heads, and administrative staff. Additionally, commemorative gifts were given to staff members entering retirement.
Incorporating more than reflections, the event included sessions on the Code of Ethics for Lecturers and Staff and a Socialization of sexual violence prevention to enhance awareness among the FISIP USU academic community.
With a positive spirit and shared commitment, the 2023 Reflection event at FISIP USU provided a retrospective analysis and laid the groundwork for continuous growth and improvement in the years ahead.
