Official (Pj) Governor of North Sumatra (North Sumatra) Agus Fatoni launched the Social Solidarity Movement simultaneously throughout North Sumatra on Wednesday, (21/08/24) at the Tengku Rizal Nurdin Hall (Hall of the North Sumatra Governor's Office). This movement is a concrete step in improving social welfare, and accelerating the handling of extreme poverty in North Sumatra.

As one of the speakers, the Head of the Social Welfare Study Program of FISIP USU Agus Suriadi discussed Poverty Alleviation Strategies and Family Welfare Service Centers (PPKS) in North Sumatra Province. He explained the government's and society's role and made recommendations for overcoming PVRM and poverty. The recommendations given are expected to be strategic steps that can be taken to overcome the problems of PVRM and extreme poverty comprehensively. This effort requires strong commitment and collaboration from the government, private sector, and the community to achieve sustainable welfare improvement.
