On Thursday, July 27, 2023, the Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), in collaboration with Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), successfully hosted the Indonesian Broadcasting Conference 2023 at Hotel Adimulia Medan. Themed "Creating Healthy, Balanced, and Beneficial Broadcast Content for the 2024 Election", the event brought together academics, media industry practitioners, and members of the public interested in media and broadcasting issues.

The conference featured several distinguished speakers, including:

  • Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, M.Si (Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara) and Ubaidillah (Chairman of KPI Pusat) – Opening remarks
  • Amin Shabana (PIC Research KPI Pusat) – Address at the Indonesian Broadcasting Conference 2023
  • H. Eddy Rahmayadi (Governor of North Sumatra) – Welcoming Speech
  • Meutya Viada Hafid (Chairperson of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives) – Opening Speech, titled "Digital Broadcasting Transformation in Anticipation of the 2024 Election"
  • Budi Arie Setiadi, S.Sos., M.Si (Minister of Communication and Informatics of Indonesia) – Keynote Speech, titled "Strengthening KPI’s Role in Monitoring Broadcast Content for the 2024 Election"

The 2023 Indonesian Broadcasting Conference aimed to:
