On Saturday, December 7, 2024, the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FISIP USU), Dr. Hatta Ridho, S.Sos., M.SP, officially inaugurated the Board of the Alumni Association of the Master's Program in Development Studies (IKA MSP) for the 2024–2029 term.
The inauguration, held in the FISIP USU Multipurpose Hall, was attended by USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si, who delivered a speech emphasizing the role of IKA MSP in contributing to regional and national development. "IKA MSP must actively participate in development efforts at both regional and national levels," stated the Rector.
The newly formed board includes Sugiat Santoso, SE., M.SP, as Chairperson; Laksamana Putra Siregar, SH., M.SP, as Executive Chair; Herdensi Adnin, S.Sos., M.SP, as General Secretary; and Pangeran Ahmadi, SE., M.SP, as Treasurer, supported by 18 Vice Chairs and 21 Members divided into 7 divisions.
The Master's Program in Development Studies (MSP), established in 2002, boasts 752 alumni now employed in various professional sectors, both in government and private institutions. With such a significant number of alumni holding middle to upper-management positions across diverse sectors, the formation of IKA MSP aims to provide a platform for fostering synergy and collaboration in developmental efforts, particularly in North Sumatra and Indonesia.
