Medan-FISIP. The Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FISIP USU), officially conducted the handover ceremony of the chair position and inaugurated its board members for the 2021-2026 term. The event was held on November 21, 2024, at the FISIP USU Theater Room, with the Dean of FISIP USU, Dr. Hatta Ridho, S.Sos., MSP, delivering the opening remarks.

Dr. Hatta Ridho explained the history of Dharma Wanita, established on August 5, 1974, and its transformation into Dharma Wanita Persatuan during the reform era in 1998, which made the organization more independent and democratic. He emphasized the critical role of Dharma Wanita in supporting family welfare, empowering women, and fostering social solidarity.

Ny. Wulan Hatta Ridho, as the newly appointed Chairwoman of Dharma Wanita FISIP USU for the 2021-2026 term, expressed her gratitude to the FISIP USU leadership for their support. She also appreciated the efforts of Ny. Moulita Hendra Harahap in advancing Dharma Wanita FISIP in the previous term and encouraged the new board members to bring renewed enthusiasm to the organization’s programs.

During the ceremony, Ny. Wulan Hatta Ridho officially assumed the chair position from Ny. Moulita Hendra Harahap, who had served until the end of her husband’s term, the late Drs. Hendra Harahap, M.Si., Ph.D. In addition to the handover ceremony, the new Dharma Wanita FISIP USU board for 2021-2026 was inaugurated. The board comprises 15 members, including the wives of lecturers and administrative staff (tendik), as well as female lecturers and staff of FISIP USU.

The event was attended by the Vice Dean II of FISIP USU, Prof. Dr. Nurman Achmad, S.Sos., M.Soc.Sc., and Vice Dean III, Dr. Harmona Daulay, S.Sos., M.Si. With the new board in place, it is hoped that Dharma Wanita FISIP USU will continue to support the welfare and solidarity of its members and contribute positively to FISIP USU.
