The Sesama Project team, consisting of students from the Undergraduate Program in Communication Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) class of 2022, officially launched the Mevolution campaign. This initiative aims to raise young people’s awareness of the importance of self-love as a foundation for facing increasingly prevalent mental health issues in society, while also commemorating World Mental Health Day on October 10.

The Mevolution campaign is a collaboration between Sesama Project, the DiscoverMe psychology bureau, and CIMSA, Faculty of Medicine, USU. The campaign was held in two main locations: the Medan Car Free Day (CFD) area on September 21 and the FISIP USU campus on September 29. Carrying an interactive and engaging concept, Mevolution invited participants to join various activities that encouraged self-reflection and strengthened self-confidence—from free counseling sessions with psychologists from DiscoverMe, to emotional awareness games, and the distribution of counseling vouchers as a form of continued support.

With the support of DiscoverMe and CIMSA FK USU, Mevolution served not only as a platform for personal introspection but also as a means to strengthen empathy and solidarity among young people. This initiative underscores the role of FISIP USU Communication Studies students in applying their academic knowledge to create tangible and impactful social actions.
Sesama Project hopes that Mevolution will inspire young people to embrace self-love, support one another, and contribute to building a more emotionally resilient society.
