This fundraising action serves as tangible evidence of the solidarity of the greater FISIP USU family in helping one another amid the disaster that struck several regions in Sumatra.
FISIP-USU, December 9, 2025 — An act of solidarity was demonstrated by the FISIP USU Alumni Association through a fundraising initiative to assist members of the academic community affected by flood disasters in three provinces in Sumatra. The donations successfully collected amounted to IDR 15,000,000 and were officially distributed to 44 FISIP students registered as aid recipients within the FISIP USU campus community. The distribution of assistance, carried out on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in the FISIP USU Theater Room, was attended by the Dean of FISIP USU, Hatta Ridho; Vice Dean II, Nurman Achmad; Vice Dean III, Harmona Daulay; the Dean’s Expert Staff, Fatmawati Lubis; the Head of Administrative Affairs (KTU), Elvi Sumanti; as well as representatives of the FISIP USU Alumni Association, Edowati and Arief Marizki.
In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP USU emphasized the faculty’s commitment to continuously providing support for members of the academic community affected by disasters. The assistance provided is not only material in nature, but also includes non-material support through mentoring and post-disaster services as needed. The faculty has also opened an aid post (Administrative Office room), where members of the academic community can obtain necessities such as food supplies and clothing.
A representative of the Alumni Association, Arief Marizki, also expressed the hope that the assistance distributed would ease the burden of flood victims and strengthen togetherness between alumni and the campus. This fundraising action serves as tangible evidence of the solidarity of the greater FISIP USU family in helping one another amid the disaster that struck several regions in Sumatra.
