MEDAN – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Sumatera Utara (FISIP USU) conducted interviews for prospective postgraduate students as part of the 2026/2027 academic year admissions process. The interviews took place over three days, from July 14–16, 2026, at FISIP USU.
The interview process involved applicants from eight study programs: the Master's programs in Communication Science, Public Administration, Development Studies, Political Science, Sociology, and Anthropology, as well as the Doctoral programs in Communication Science and Development Studies.
The interviews were conducted by the heads of each study program together with members of the FISIP USU leadership. This stage of the selection process was designed to assess applicants' academic readiness, research commitment, and the alignment of their proposed study plans with FISIP USU's academic vision.
Dean of FISIP USU, Dr. Hatta Ridho, S.Sos., M.SP., emphasized that the interview is an essential component of the admissions process to ensure that admitted students possess both strong academic potential and a clear commitment to advancing the fields of social and political sciences.
"Through these interviews, we aim to ensure that prospective students are not only academically capable but also bring meaningful ideas and a genuine commitment to contributing to the advancement of knowledge and society. FISIP USU is committed to producing outstanding and impactful postgraduate graduates," the Dean stated.
Through this interview process, FISIP USU seeks to identify and admit highly qualified candidates who are prepared to pursue advanced studies and contribute to realizing the faculty's vision of becoming an Excellent and Impactful institution.
