A vibrant atmosphere of enthusiasm and togetherness filled the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) as the faculty celebrated its 45th Anniversary in a festive spirit. The event brought together students, lecturers, and alumni to create, collaborate, and celebrate FISIP USU’s long journey in a warm, camaraderie-filled atmosphere.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the Entrepreneurship Bazaar, which showcased a variety of products and creations from students, alumni, and FISIP USU’s industry partners. The bazaar served as a platform for participants to display creativity in developing local products and innovations in the creative economy — from culinary delights and handicrafts to modern lifestyle goods. Beyond being a promotional event, the bazaar also strengthened social and economic networks within the academic community while fostering the spirit of creative economic independence that defines FISIP USU.
The celebration was further enlivened by various competitions, including essay writing, vlogging, TikTok contests, fashion shows, a Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) tournament, and children’s fashion and coloring contests. Each activity was met with great enthusiasm, showcasing the talents and creativity of participants and bringing vibrant color to the campus.
In the TikTok competition, first place went to Nabila Almas Hasibuan, followed by Rayhan Harahap in second place and Juniaty Manulang in third. Putri Nur Hidayah earned the title of Audience Favorite. Meanwhile, in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) tournament, Team Venom (USU e-Sport) claimed first place, Nugraha (USU e-Sport) took second, and Semoga Hoki (FISIP) came in third.
The excitement continued with the Children’s Fashion Show, where participants confidently graced the stage. In the PAUD/Kindergarten category, Naqia Nasution took first place, followed by Alia Syazani Ginting and Nadhira Khaliqa Kaunar. For the Elementary A (6–8 years) group, Mhd Bima Satria Rahman won first place, Alesha Sakhi Hadeeqa second, and M. Kenzie Alkautsar third. The Elementary B (9–11 years) category saw Alifa Sakhi Humaira as the winner, followed by Hafidz Ilmi Wijaya and Naura Maritza Assyifa.
In the Student Fashion Show, participants displayed creativity and confidence on stage. In the Male Category, Rezky Andi Pratama Ginting won first place, Khalish second, and Christian Suramana Sembiring third. In the Female Category, Veronika Arlioti took first place, Zoraya Balqis second, and Bunga Nazmi third, while Vyola Greacesya Nst and Perbina br Sinuhaji received Audience Favorite titles.
The Coloring Competition added even more joy to the celebration as children expressed creativity through bright, cheerful artwork that decorated the campus. In the PAUD category, M. Rizqi Hamizan won first place, Naqia Nasution second, and Ria Hutabarat third. In Elementary A, Raisa Aqila Putri claimed first place, followed by Joana Dilonika Purwanto and Adinda Syakira. For Elementary B, Naura Maritza Assyifa secured first place, with Mutiara Sari and Riefqi Alhadid Rachman coming in second and third, respectively.
The series of bazaar and competition activities not only served as a celebration but also as a space for students, alumni, and the surrounding community to interact and collaborate. The spirit of togetherness reflected the core social values upheld by FISIP USU — a place where ideas, creativity, and solidarity thrive. The excitement is set to continue with upcoming activities such as the Fun Walk and Lucky Draw, which will conclude FISIP USU’s 45th Anniversary celebration with joy and shared enthusiasm.
