As part of its efforts to improve the quality of higher education in line with current developments, the Undergraduate Program in Political Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FISIP USU), organized a workshop entitled “Strengthening Faculty Capacity in Implementing the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Curriculum.” The activity was held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the FISIP USU Theater Room. The workshop was attended by faculty members from across FISIP USU as part of a collective commitment to continuously strengthen academic learning standards.

The workshop featured Ilr. Galih Ari Wirawan Siregar, S.Pt., M.Si., IPM., CIT, Curriculum Manager at the Directorate of Education Development (DirPP) USU, as the main speaker. In his presentation, he emphasized the importance of designing an outcome-based curriculum that focuses on learning outcomes, graduate competencies, and assessment methods that are responsive to the current needs of the workforce and industry. The session was facilitated interactively by M. Zubeir Sipahutar, S.IP., M.IP., a lecturer in the Undergraduate Program in Political Science, FISIP USU, who served as the moderator.

The training is expected to provide faculty members with a comprehensive understanding and practical skills to effectively design and implement the OBE curriculum across study programs. Through this faculty capacity-building initiative, FISIP USU continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the university’s vision of entering The Era of Ultimate Excellence and producing highly competitive and competent graduates who are prepared to make a positive impact on society.
