On Saturday, April 15, 2023, the Irwan Abdullah Scholar Foundation (IASF), led by Prof. Dr. Irwan Abdullah, visited the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) as part of the Academic Writing Workshop series. The event was titled "Breaking Barriers: Strategies for Successful Academic Writing and Publication in International Journals."
The Dean of FISIP USU, Dr. Hatta Ridho, S.Sos., MSP., delivered an opening speech, officially launching the workshop. Prof. Dr. Erman Munir, M.Sc., Head of LIPI HKI USU, and academic communities from USU and UNIMED also attended the event.
The main session, featuring a presentation by Prof. Dr. Irwan Abdullah, was moderated by Dr. Fotarisman Zaluchu, SKM., MPH. The insightful and engaging discussion offered valuable guidance on how scholars can successfully publish in international journals.
Prof. Irwan shared several key strategies, including practical tips and tricks for improving the quality of academic writing. One of his core messages to motivate participants was "One day, one paragraph,"—encouraging scholars to cultivate a consistent writing habit to enhance their chances of publication in prestigious international journals.
